The latest Crime Report in England and Wales for the Year Ending September 2019 by the Office for National Statistics.

Key Findings:

  • The police recorded 5.8 million crimes in England and Wales (excluding Greater Manchester Police) in the year ending September 2019

  • The CSEW estimated that over 10.9 million offences were experienced by adults aged 16 years and over in the year ending September 2019

  • 12% increase in robbery (82,542 offences)

  • 7% increase in the number of offences involving knives or sharp instruments (44,771 offences) (the highest ever recorded).
